Job Summary/Basic Functions 
Provides strategic direction for University-wide procurement

Leads the operations of the purchasing and accounts payable departments

Ensures that the procurement needs of University constituents are met

Recommends University purchasing policy and ensures compliance

Oversees compliance with State of Colorado requirements, preferably
including contract monitoring and approval as designee of Attorney
General

Minimum Qualifications 
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's
degree in a field of study closely related to the work assignment.
Professional procurement experience which provide the same kind, amount
and level of knowledge acquired in the required education will
substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. 

Five years management experience that demonstrates holding progressive
and more responsible positions in the administration and management of a
purchasing program. 

Experience must include at least one year management of programs, data,
and policy development.

Two years of successful supervisory experience of professional
purchasing staff.

Preferred Qualifications 
Juris Doctorate 

Candidate is admitted to the Colorado bar and in good standing. The
position would be subject to designation as a Special Assistant Attorney
General at the discretion of the Attorney General of the State of
Colorado and conditioned upon satisfying all Colorado State Controller
requirements to become designated as a reviewing attorney.

Salary and Benefits 
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits
available include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a
selection of several defined contribution retirement programs.
Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed as 0.5FTE or
above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These
tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements
may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
